FAQ

Q. Is the van easy to tow?

A. Yes, all HiP vans are either Pop Tops or Camper Trailers.  This means that when travelling they have less wind resistance, are easier to tow and in turn become a more fuel-efficient vehicle to tow.

Q.  What do I need to know about towing the van?

A.  You will need to know the towing capacity of your vehicle and your tow ball. The vehicle specs will be in your car manual and the tow ball capacity will be on a plate on your tow ball.  Your vehicle must be able to match the towing capacity for the van booked.  (Pleases see individual van specs for towing capacities).

Q. Will my electrics work with the van?

A.  If wired correctly, there should be no problem with the compatibility of your electrics to our vans.  All our vans are fitted with a 7 flat pin and we have adaptors to fit most plugs.

Q.  Will I need to get a brake controller fitted?

A.  Some of our vans have override brakes, so no need for electric brake controllers.  For the vans that do have electric brakes, a remote brake controller can be supplied.

Q.  Can I call you if there is a problem?

A.  A member of the HiP team can be reached from 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday and we also have an out of hours message bank service.

Q.  What do we need to bring?

A.  Everything is supplied with the exception of your food, Drinks, Linen and clothes….

Q.  Are the vans insured?

A. You are required to have comprehensive insurance for the towing vehicle named on the contract and the vans are covered on CIL insurance with the exception of the excess.

Q. Can I hire some extra equipment?

A.  Yes, pleases see our list of optional extras.
